If you haven’t noticed I have been less active in writing blog posts the past couple months than normal.I have gotten a different job and I have started taking classes to get my bachelors degree which is why I haven’t been able to write on the blog. As my new job revolves around technical support I thought I would start writing about some of the experiences I have had dealing with computer issues.
Here are some of the things that I am working on for my blog:
First since I have started taking college classes lately I have been taking online classes. And when I started taking online classes I thought it would be a good way for me to take classes without having to spend extra time after work going to class and more time working on homework. But at least at my school it seems they there is an added amount of work for students to do to try and make up for the in class atmosphere. And even though this may seem like a good idea I think it doesn’t handle the issue of how to make online classes the same as in seat classes. Adding extra work for students to do by requiring online discussions does not give the same learning experience as in class discussions. In an upcoming post I am going to look at other ways for online classes to create an in class discussion online.
Another blog post I am working on since I have been dealing with it at work is the introduction of Windows 8 devices into the Windows Enterprise environment. With both WIndows 8 and Windows 8.1 devices being made and brought into work it is becoming troublesome to support these devices using the standard tools and services that are used to support Windows XP and 7 computers. It is clear that Microsoft is moving towards the consumer market and touch devices with the release of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. With the end of life of Windows XP in April 2014 and the discontinuing of Windows 7 sales and the end of 2014 it leaves businesses with a tough choice when purchasing new computers. In my upcoming blog post I will talk about the issues facing systems administrators in the new Windows era and some benefits.
That is about all for now, I hope to be posting these blog posts soon, as well as some app picks and other blog posts. Thanks for reading my blog and let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas you would like me to write about.
