YouTube Channels that Motivate

There are millions of YouTube channels on a myriad of different topics. And many people already have their favorite YouTube channels, but I wanted to share several channels that are great to watch to improve your outlook and motivate you. Sorry but no cat videos included because even though they may be cute but they won’t motivate you.

So the first channel I want to recommend is Shots of awe. This is a newer YouTube channel that was started in 2013 and is backed by the TestTube Network. Shots of Awe are videos that run several minutes long and the videos are on many different topics. The videos are all shot in HD and include some beautiful video scenes with in-depth thoughts about the human mind, and the world around us. This is one channel that I love to watch and always gets me thinking about my self and the world around me. After watching these videos I always think about how amazing we can be. New videos are posted every week and the topics vary greatly. On the YouTube page it is described as  “every week Jason freestyles his way into the complex systems of society, technology and human existence and discusses the truth and beauty of science in a form of existential jazz.”  If you want a better outlook on the human experience and motivate you to be the best, this is a great channel to subscribe. Check out one of their videos below

The next YouTube channel is the vlogbrothers and these guys are pretty well known but if you don’t know who they are. Hank Green and John Green are the Vlogbrothers who send vlogs to each other and YouTube on a myriad of different topics. These topics can vary greatly and they have several other channels all based on learning. There is the SciShow channel which is a channel full of awesome videos related to science. They also have a channel called Crash Course which has videos on Biology, History, Ecology, Chemistry, Literature, & Psychology. This is a great channel to subscribe to to get videos on each of these topics and stay motivated to learn more. The vlogbrothers and their channels have a really big following and they even have their own community called Nerdfighters which has many different projects and are a great place to meet people and get encouragement. A lot of the vlogbrothers work revolves around helping people and charities around the world. They call it reducing world suck, which is a very appropriate name for what they are doing. One of their most important projects is called project for awesome which is all about donating to charities from around the world chosen by the community to decrease worldsuck and get some cool gifts. Check out these guys and all of their channels if you want to educate yourself on a ton of different topics and stay motivated with their personalities. Here are a few videos from the vlogbrothers channels.

The last YouTube channel I want to mention is MinutePhysics which is made up of these great videos about different science topics. These videos are usually short videos under five minutes long and they take very large subjects like parallel universes and make it easy to understand. Accompany these videos are hand drawn scenes and diagrams that are used to give visual aids to make these complex subjects a little easier to comprehend. The hand drawings in the videos are always fun and help reinforce the video topic. The goal of MinutePhysics is to make cool science videos and to get people excited about learning. And they definitely do that. They also have another channel called MinuteEarth which is just focused on the earth and everything that lives there.  Videos on both channels are done by the same person so videos there are done the same way. You don’t have to be taking science classes to watch these channels. MinutePhysics and MinuteEarth have lots of videos on the science involved in everyday life. This is a great channel to spend a few minutes of your day watching and it will not only answer your burning science questions but it will give you a little glimpse of the physics in our world.

So these are my recommendations for YouTube channels you should watch to learn and get motivated about learning. These channels are all completely different when it comes to their video content and how they make videos, but all of these channels are striving for the same goal. Even though there are tons of YouTube channels all vying for your views, these channels certainly deserve some of you views. I hope you get a chance to check out these channels and their videos to get motivated. Let me know what are some of your favorite YouTube channels!
