This year has seen a lot of amazing new gadgets released in computer and electronics fields. These gadgets have changed the way we use our electronics. At the end of every year there are always best of the year lists for many categories from gadgets, apps, books, and games. So this is my first ever best of list and this is specifically a list of gadgets from 2013. This list will limit gadgets to electronic devices that does not include computers, tablets, smart phones, or game systems. This makes it a true gadgets list of 2013 and easier to determine the a list of best gadgets of 2013.

How to stay Secure on the Internet part 2

The second part of my blog series on staying Secure on the Internet is about something that most people don’t  do and that is using two-factor authentication when logging into websites. Most people believe having a secure password is all you need to stay protected online. But that is not true anymore a secure password can be compromised just like an insecure password. Two-factor authentication adds another layer of security and has been put in place for most popular websites like Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Dropbox.

Google Chromecast Review

Google surprised everyone when it announced the release of the Google Chromecast along with the new Nexus 7 tablet. There were no rumors or leaks of the Chromecast before it was announced which is why there was the surprise. The Chromecast is an ingenious device which allows you to stream video to your HDTV and control the content with your Android device or Chrome browser. Here is my review of the ChromeCast, which is unlike any other streaming device on the market.

The new Google Maps

The new Google Maps

At the recent Google I/O developer conference, Google announce several updates and improvements to their products and services. One such update was to a very popular Google Service, Google Maps which could be one of the best Mapping services available. Google announced update makes several different changes to the well known Maps UI as well changing the focus of the application and service. Google is slowly rolling out the new Google Maps and I have been lucky enough to get it and here are my thoughts on the update.

Could Google be hurting itself by trying to improve?

Google is one of the best companies when it comes to coming up with new product ideas and improving current products and services.  Outside of Android OS which is essentially an open sourced OS created by Google there are many different Google services that people rely on all the time. And while it is great to see Google change direction to come up with different or improved products and services, the constant changes can come at a price of upsetting or losing customers.
